The Don't Extradite the Basques Campaign was formally launched on Wednesday 10 June against the extradition to Spain of Belfast-based Basque pro-independence activists Iñaki de Juana and Arturo ‘Beñat’ Villanueva at a press conference in An Chultúrlann.
Civil rights activist Fearghas Ó hÍr outlined the campaign on behalf of the committee, joined by a range of supporters including prominent human rights defenders and community activists, aiming to demonstrate the broad support for the human and civil rights of the Basque people from across the Belfast community.
The interview is about the Palestinian boycott campaign (BDS). Omar Barghouti, one of the founders explains the birth of it and the goals of this campaign. He also speaks about the last achievements mainly those got in Europe and the opinion the Palestinian have about this boycott. Omar is also suffering a campaign (from Israel) against him because he is working in the boycott campaign. The interview is made in 'A desalambrar' internationalist program in Hala Bedi irratia, free radio from Gasteiz (Basque Country).

En un momento en el que en el mundo y en nuestro pueblo se están dando cada vez más pasos y de mayor tamaño en la campaña de solidaridad con Palestina y boicot al estado sionista de Israel, el equipo de baloncesto Baskonia ha fichado al israelí Lior Eliyahu.
¿Es demasiado pedir un posicionamiento contrario hacia ese deportista israelí? Hay seguidores del Baskonia que van a comenzar una campaña de bajas como abonados del club, ¿se están pasando?
No faltará quien nos diga que el deporte (y la música, la cultura, la enseñanza...) no se tienen que mezclar con la política (es decir, deben aceptar la política del que mande).
Cuando se dicen ese tipo de sentencias salomónicas se origina una gran amnesia: ¿dónde quedan las y los deportistas, intelectuales y músicos que muchas de nosotras admiramos, y que fueron (y son) perseguidos o impedidos en su actividad: Víctor Jara, Eduardo Galeano, Jean Paul Sarte, Simone de Beauvoir, el recientemente fallecido Mario Benedetti, Eva Forest, Alfonso Sastre, Mohamed Ali o Erasun entre tantos y tantos otros conocidos o anónimos.
