Elkartzen was born in the Basque Country in 2000. Our aim consist in the recognition of the basic social rights for the whole population that live in the Basque Country, that?s it: the right of having a job, the right of having a minimum income and the right of having a housing.
Elkartzen is asocial movement in favour of social rights. It appeared in the Basque Country in 2000. It didn?t appeared from nowhere. In December of 1996 a Popular Legislative Initiative started with the propose of a social letter approval. People and sets of demands thar moved around this initiative, thought in going ahead with this fight and in this way born Elkartzen. Different social platforms form Elkartzen, eg: platforms in favour of the social rights , in favour of housing, against the precariousness? also Elkartzen is formed by individuals as unemployed people, trade unions members?
Our objective is that the basic social rights will be recognized (the right of having a job, the right of getting a minimum income and the right of having a housing) for the whole population that live in the Basque Country. For getting this objective we promote different activities as conferences, mobilizations, meetings? to make aware the society and finish with the unfair exploitations. For doing this sensitizing task and to strength the relations between different people and groups we have developed this web site.
